IJS GLOBAL Appoints Steven Tofts as CEO Americas

Amsterdam, The Netherlands (September 1, 2010)—IJS Global is pleased to announce the addition of Steven Tofts as CEO Americas. Steven brings more than 30 years of international experience to the position and has spent nearly his entire career in both the UK as the USA..
As CEO Americas, Steven will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s corporate strategies and operations in the region as well as the materialization of the growth aspirations of IJS Global in the Americas region. Steven has over 30 years of global industry experience, joining IJS Global in September 2010 after 5 years with Lynden International based in Seattle. He started his career with Thomas Meadows London in 1976,  during the early years building the  operational knowledge across all the disciplines of the freight forwarding business, before moving on to manage various facilities for the company.  Joining MSAS in 1990 through to 1993, he worked on several “projects” for the group and managed the group ocean freight division before moving on to Walford Meadows, where he was involved in project management in various regions in Africa. An opportunity to join  Lupprian’s Cargo Express in February 2000, where he was Director and responsible for their  UK operations, eventually led to a move to Lynden,  their USA partner, and he held director positions in business development and International operations, before becoming Vice President International in November 2008.

“Steven brings a vast wealth of knowledge of both logistics and transportation experience to IJS,” said Sjoerd van Loon, CEO IJS Global. “I am confident he will continue to elevate the success of the company and the Americas region as a whole.”
