STAMFORD, CT. (September 24, 2007)—IJS Global, Inc., the fast-growing multi-modal freight forwarder, customs broker and non-vessel operating common carrier, announced today it had expanded into the important Australian market through acquiring majority ownership of Sydney-based LYNAIR International, one of Australia’s leading freight forwarding and logistics companies. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Effective today, LYNAIR will be re-branded LYNAIR-IJS Global, offering Australian businesses a broader range of services and enhanced geographic coverage by leveraging IJS Global’s extensive and expanding worldwide infrastructure. Formed in 1988, LYNAIR has offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, and operates in other Australian cities through alliances with other providers.
Paul Wensor and Paul Angel, LYNAIR’s current directors, will remain with the company, as will all of LYNAIR’s management and staff. Prior to the transaction, LYNAIR and IJS Global were collaborating in Australia through an agency relationship.
