STAMFORD, CT (December 20, 2006) - IJS Global Inc., the fast-growing multi-modal freight forwarder, customs broker and non-vessel operating common carrier, said today it has opened a full-service facility in Chicago, Ill. Chicago becomes IJS Global’s eighth U.S. location and its first in the US Midwest.
Located in Elk Grove Village, Ill., adjacent to O’Hare International Airport, the 14,000 square foot facility handles IJS Global’s international and U.S. domestic operations for the Chicagoland area as well as the US Midwest region. It is headed by Pete Smith, a 27-year industry veteran with high-level experience at some of the world’s leading logistics providers. Smith reports to John Gallahan, President and CEO, Asia Pacific & Americas.
In the U.S., IJS Global operates in New York; Newark, N.J.; Atlanta; Miami; Los Angeles; Portland, Ore. and Houston.
