Welcome to Megafreight South Africa.
Megafreight ranks among the ten leading forwarders in South Africa and is arguably the second largest wholly South African owned forwarder in the country. The company has a strong heritage having operated under the same leadership for more than 28 years since its inception in 1981. The group has been on an active yet selective acquisition trail since 1984, the last of which was the purchase of JH Bachmann which in turn led to the Imperial Group acquiring an interest in Megafreight in 2001.
Senior executives at Megafreight still maintain a significant stake in the business, resulting in an ownership mentality when dealing with our clients. Our core business is Global Freight Management, encompassing Air and Ocean Freight, Customs Clearing, Warehousing and complimentary ground based logistics services. We also specialise in the air and ocean movement of Project Shipments, Hazardous cargo and Wine where we have become one of the leaders in this field in South Africa in a relatively short time.
Our international partnerships span the world, giving us the ability to deliver goods to all four corners of the globe. Our network services in excess of 50 countries across five continents which allows us to manage your shipments at international level whilst keeping control of your goods from a local perspective.
Clients of Megafreight experience our proactive approach where people take ownership of your shipments resulting in accountability and dedication, which is the cornerstone of our hands-on 'Service you can Touch' approach rather than just playing a mere service provider role or heading for the long grass when problems arise.
