
Giorgio Laccona – Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Giorgio Laccona has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the company since July 2006. Giorgio has over 30 years of experience in the logistics industry. Prior to joining IJS Global, Giorgio was President of the Italian-based forwarder Savino Del Bene USA, Inc. His career in freight forwarding began in 1976 when he joined the former Air Express International Corp. (AEI). He spent 24 years at AEI, rising to the post of Senior Vice President for the Americas in 1999. When AEI was acquired by Deutsche Post World Net in 2000, Giorgio remained with the newly combined Danzas AEI Intercontinental as President and CEO for the Americas. Giorgio left Danzas AEI in January 2001 to join Eagle Global Logistics as Chief Operating Officer for International operations, a position he held for two years.
Sjoerd van Loon - Chief Executive Officer - Europe, Middle East and Africa
Sjoerd van Loon has been Chief Executive Office of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since July 2006. He has held similar positions with Air Express International Corp, Danzas AEI Intercontinental and Exel. Mr. van Loon began his career with KLM Cargo in 1967. In 1976 he joined Pakhoed Rotterdam NV, a leading Dutch logistics concern and held various sales and operational management positions for its air freight division HAT/Pandair. In 1985, he joined Mueller NV as Airfreight Director and was then promoted to Director of its Transportation Division. In 1991, he led a management buyout of Mueller Freight Services Group, which was then acquired by AEI in December 1996. Mr. van Loon was appointed country manager of the Netherlands where he led the successful integration of AEI and Mueller Freight Logistics operations. In 1999, AEI appointed Mr. van Loon as Vice President of EMEA. In 2000 after the Deutsche Post World Net acquisition of AEI, Mr. van Loon remained with Danzas AEI Intercontinental as a Senior Vice President with responsibility for the integration of Danzas, AEI and ASG. Mr. van Loon held this position until 2001 when he joined Exel as Chief Executive Officer of EMEA.
Mark Atzbi – Chief Financial Officer
Mark Atzbi has been Chief Financial Officer of the company since March 2005. He has over 15 years of experience in the transportation industry. From 1986 to 1993, he was Vice President of Finance at Votainer, a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier owned by the Van Ommeren Group, until that company was acquired in 1993 by Air Express International. In 1996 he became Vice President and Controller for North America at AEI and held that position until 2000 when the company was acquired by the Deutsche Post. Between 2001 and 2005 he was District Controller for Waste Management, a solid waste company. He is a graduate of Brooklyn College in New York with a BA in Economics and a BS in Accounting
Migdalia (Mickey) Diaz – Vice President of Global Operations
Mickey Diaz was appointed Vice President of Global Operations in May 2006. Mickey has over 15 years of experience in the logistics industry including Air and Ocean, Import and Export, Business Development, Training and Quality and Compliance. Prior to joining IJS Global, Mickey was Vice President of Operations for Savino Del Bene USA, Inc. Her career in freight forwarding began in 1991 when she joined Votainer, a Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier owned by the Van Ommeren Group, until that company was acquired in 1993 by Air Express International (AEI Corp). Mickey worked through all levels of the company in local, regional and corporate roles. At the time AEI was acquired by the Deutsche Post World Net in 2000, Mickey was the Vice President of Quality and Customer Services for the Americas. Mickey was instrumental in the retention of customers during this acquisition. At IJS Global, Mickey will be responsible for the quality of services on a global scale.
Hugh Cutler - Vice President Sales & Marketing
Hugh Cutler has been Vice President Sales & Marketing since February 2008. Hugh has over 28 years of experience in the logistics industry. Prior to joining IJS Global, Hugh was President of the Philadelphia based BDP Air Transport. Hugh's career in logistics began in 1982 as a field sales representative for Emery Air Freight in Toronto, Canada and then to CF Air Freight as Country Manager Canada. At CF Air Freight (Emery Worldwide) Hugh held positions VP International Sales, VP International Operations, VP Eastern Area and VP Global Transportation, leaving the company after it was acquired by UPS. |
