Sjoerd van Loon - Chief Executive Officer
Sjoerd van Loon has been appointed Global Chief Executive Officer of IJS Global as per April 1, 2010. Formerly he held the position of CEO of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) since July 2006. Sjoerd van Loon has held similar positions with Air Express International Corp, Danzas AEI Intercontinental and Exel. He began his career with KLM Cargo in 1967. In 1976 Sjoerd joined Pakhoed Rotterdam NV, a leading Dutch logistics concern and held various sales and operational management positions for its air freight division HAT/Pandair.In 1985, Sjoerd joined Mueller NV as Airfreight Director and was then promoted to Director of its Transportation Division. In 1991, he led a management buyout of Mueller Freight Services Group, which was then acquired by AEI in December 1996. He was appointed Country Manager of the Netherlands where he led the successful integration of AEI and Mueller Freight Logistics operations. In 1999, AEI appointed Sjoerd Vice President of EMEA. In 2000 after the Deutsche Post World Net acquisition of AEI, he remained with Danzas AEI Intercontinental as a Senior Vice President with responsibility for the integration of Danzas, AEI and ASG. Sjoerd van Loon held this position until 2001 when he joined Exel as Chief Executive Officer of EMEA.

Ron van Bijsterveld – Chief Information Officer
Ron van Bijsterveld has been appointed Global Information Officer of IJS Global as per August  1, 2010. Upon completion of his business and informatics studies, Ron founded an ICT company called Co-maker in 1992. Initially Co-maker focussed on delivering business and IT consultancy, but was later transformed into a the company offering specific IT solutions to markets as logistics -, professional -, healthcare - and financial services. In 2007 Ron van Bijsterveld  sold part of the company to a fast growing new Dutch ICT group called Total Specific Solutions (TSS) and became member of the executive board. When he  left TSS – prior to joining IJS Global - the company had grown into one of the Top 10 Dutch IT companies with over 1,600 staff.

Ed Nieuwenhuizen – Chief Financial Officer 
Ed Nieuwenhuizen has been appointed Global Chief Financial Officer as per July 1, 2010. Ed has held a similar position with Amsterdam Container Terminals, a joint venture of Nippon Yusen Kaisha and Hutchison Port Holdings, a stevedoring company in the Port of Amsterdam since 2002. In 2000 he joined Excellent Air Holdings as CFO, an air limousine operator based on Schiphol Airport, the Netherlands. In 1993 he was assigned Corporate Controller of Martinair Holland, a KLM subsidiary. As from 1985, after graduating as CPA, he started his career as auditor for Ernst & Young Auditors in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Rene de Koning – Chief Marketing Officer 
Rene de Koning started his career in logistics in 1988 as registered customs clerk at Dutch Air, one of the largest private owned airfreight forwarders at Amsterdam Schiphol airport. Until September 1998 Rene has been active on operational, tactical and strategically levels and held management functions in the fields of warehousing, physical distribution, customs/VAT, quality - and  supply chain management, 4PL and business development.  From 1998 Rene joined the HIDC /Holland International Distribution Council. A private/public partnership that supports Asian and US companies in setting up operations in Europe, selecting 3PL’s and implementing supply chain solutions. In this position as General Manager Logistics Rene was responsible for the Asian as well as the European market. As of July 2001 Rene joined TMI/Road Air where he was active in various fields like supply chain management, warehousing, business development and assisting medium and large US/Asian companies setting up and/or reorganizing their European supply chain. Customers served were mainly in the field of aerospace & defense, high-tech, medical technology and pharmaceuticals. From September 2008 till December 2010 Rene was responsible for the business development in the EMEA region. He was appointed Chief Marketing Officer as per December 1, 2010. 

Steven Tofts  – Chief Executive Officer - Americas 
Steven has over 30 years of global industry experience, joining IJS Global in September 2010 after 5 years with Lynden International based in Seattle. He started his career with Thomas Meadows London in 1976,  during the early years building the  operational knowledge across all the disciplines of the freight forwarding business, before moving on to manage various facilities for the company.  Joining MSAS in 1990 through to 1993, he worked on several “projects” for the group and managed the group ocean freight division before moving on to Walford Meadows, where he was involved in project management in various regions in Africa. An opportunity to join  Lupprian’s Cargo Express in February 2000, where he was Director and responsible for their  UK operations, eventually led to a move to Lynden,  their USA partner, and he held director positions in business development and International operations, before becoming Vice President International in November 2008.

Paul Wensor – Chief Executive Officer - Australia 
Paul Wensor began his career in freight forwarding in 1977. He was initially employed by Australian Forwarding Agency (AFA) who were at the time Australia’s largest freight forwarder and Customs Broker. AFA was sold to another Australian company Fliway International which was in turn sold to Fritz Companies in 1995. Paul held various positions with these companies including Customs, Operational and State  management positions until being appointed Southern Regional Director in 1997. Paul held this position until he left in 2001 to form his own company after Fritz Companies was acquired by UPS. Integrated Logistics Management (ILM) was formed with a group of ex Fritz management with a vision to deliver exceptional levels of customer service. In 2003 ILM acquired Lynair International Melbourne and in 2005 completed the acquisition of Lynair International Sydney operations. Rebranded as Lynair International the company started working with IJS Global on an agency basis. In 2007 an agreement was reached whereby IJS Global acquired 80% of the shares in Lynair International. Paul Wensor continues in his role of CEO IJS Global Australia.

Michael Gillett – Chief Executive Officer - EMEA 
Mike Gillett has over 30 years of global freight and logistics experience, joining IJS Global in January 2007 as CEO UK & Ireland when he sold to them the highly successful UK based Lupprians Cargo Express Ltd, and then assuming his current role Chief Executive Officer EMEA in April 2010. Previous to owning and running Lupprians which he started in 1993, Mike had begun his career in 1979 as an airfreight export clerk, before moving in to key sales roles for such companies as Mercury International, Swedish giant ASG and US based Circle Freight International. In 1989 he took up a more general management role for M & S Shipping, one of the UK largest independent forwarders, establishing and running their Airfreight Division. During his period in the sales arena Mike held several trade development roles focusing initially on Scandinavia before spending a considerable number of years travelling extensively throughout Asia.

Michael Groebsch – Chief Executive Officer Asia 
Michael Groebsch career started in 1981 in Switzerland with a forwarding apprenticeship. After working for Panalpina in Switzerland and the UK, he studied Economics and Business Administration at the HWV in Zurich. In 1991 he joined MGB, the largest retailer in Switzerland. Two years later he moved to Hong Kong to join Jacky Maeder where he held the GM Sales and GM China positions. In 1999 he re-joined Panalpina in Singapore to manage a 465'000 sf. distribution facility for a Fortune 500 company and later served as Director Operations and General Manager Malaysia. In 2004 he joined ABX LOGISTICS in Hong Kong responsible for North Asia and later the entire Asian Region until the company was sold in 2008. Before joining IJS Global as Chief Executive Officer Asia, Michael worked for an OEM of kitchen appliances in South China.
